Here we are the begining of march with the full moon around the 10 of the month. The water temps are in the low 60's which means the reef west of the river about 12 miles will be holding some good fish. expect to catch females up to 10lb. The reef is shown on the hot spot charts. look for structure on the bottom as the water is clear right now. watch the fronts as the water is 25ft deep and can be to rough for small boats. Best bait is srimp with a 1/0 strong hook with 12lb mono. and 3/4 oz. wt.
I use triple fish line because of the low mem. and streach factor with a floucarcon leader. fiddler crabs work well if you have them. The limits are generous with 15 per person but be easy on the females they are our future. Who wants to clean a cooler full of sheepshead anyway so split the catch with your buddies and save some for your next trip.
The trout bite is starting off slow the fish are still around the river and creek mouths until we get some warm weather for a few days without a cold front blast. (this morn. Monday 27deg same for Tues).
Good fishing
